Collaborating with Our Team Across California

This summer, BDPA merged with Southwest Strategies Group, a premiere communications firm with offices in Southern California, the Central Valley, and the Bay Area. We’ve had the pleasure of working with our new colleagues, expanding our reach and expertise to our clients.

BDPA worked with our new colleagues at ColLAborate in Los Angeles on event planning and media outreach for the Grand Opening of MacArthur Field A and Topping Off of MacArthur Field B. This project by our client The Core Companies in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will create 148 units of affordable housing for formerly homeless and disabled veterans.

Addressing the Housing Crisis

For more than 20 years, BDPA has been at the forefront of housing development in the Bay Area. Faced with the current housing crisis, we are proud to support the creation of new housing across the state. A number of our clients have celebrated groundbreakings and grand openings for affordable housing developments this year.

BHNC 3300 Mission

Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center’s redevelopment project at 3300 Mission Street broke ground this fall. With 35 new units of affordable housing and ground-floor retail space, the project will rejuvenate the building, which has sat empty since 2016, and bring new life to the Mission Bernal corridor.

Related Sugar Pine Village

Related California marked the grand opening of the first phase of Sugar Pine Village, an affordable project in South Lake Tahoe. Part of Governor Newsom’s Executive Order to build housing on state-owned surplus land, Sugar Pine Village creates critical housing for the city’s workforce.

San Francisco Bar Pilots

BDPA has worked with the San Francisco Bar Pilots and their Sacramento-based lobbying team in pursuit of a long-term solution to complying with the California Air Resource Board’s (CARB) upcoming Commercial Harbor Craft (CHC) regulations, which will create significant operational and financial challenges for SFBP as the organization seeks to fulfill its mandate of piloting ships in and out of the San Francisco Bay. In spearheading the organization’s social media accounts and State Legislature-facing newsletter, BDPA plays a crucial role in how the Bar Pilots’ message is received by both decision makers at the state level and the general public. Following a veto from Governor Newsom earlier this year on legislation that would have provided the Bar Pilots with a more feasible compliance pathway, SFBP continues to explore solutions that balance the state’s desire to drastically reduce emissions with the need for businesses to operate in California without undue burden.

Arts Activations

The arts play a key role in revitalizing downtown areas. BDPA has assisted our clients in promoting events and activations that contribute to a vibrant Downtown!

East Cut Electric

East Cut Electric

BDPA client The East Cut Community Benefit District (CBD) debuted San Francisco’s newest piece of public art, East Cut Electric. The display is San Francisco’s first permanent building light projection, lighting up the PG&E Substation in Downtown with a 114-foot display every night. Downtown visitors can expect new displays from different artists every quarter
